Pico Laser – Advanced Picosecond Technology
Pigmentation Care · Skin Brightening · Texture Refinement
Pico Laser is an advanced laser technology designed to address selected pigmentation concerns, uneven skin tone, dullness and visible signs of ageing. At Glowvia Beauty Lab, treatments are personalised according to your skin condition and individual goals.
What Is Pico Laser?
Pico Laser uses ultra-short laser pulses measured in picoseconds — trillionths of a second. These rapid pulses produce a predominantly photoacoustic effect, helping break targeted pigment into smaller particles for gradual clearance.
With suitable fractional delivery, picosecond laser technology can also support a skin-remodelling response. Unlike CO₂ Fractional Laser, Pico Laser does not normally rely on ablative skin-surface removal as its primary mechanism.

What Can Pico Laser Help With?
Pigmentation & Dark Spots — May improve selected sun spots, freckles and uneven-looking pigmentation.
Dull & Uneven Skin Tone — Supports a brighter, more refreshed-looking complexion.
Skin Texture & Enlarged Pores — Fractional treatments may improve uneven texture and the appearance of enlarged pores.
Fine Lines & Skin Rejuvenation — Selected fractional treatments may support gradual skin remodelling.
Tattoo Pigment Reduction — Suitable wavelengths may target selected tattoo pigments, although complete removal is not guaranteed.
Pico Laser Treatments at Glowvia
Pico Fractional Brightening — A fractional picosecond treatment focused on dullness, radiance and skin texture refinement.
Picosecond Skin Revitalisation — A more comprehensive approach to selected pigmentation, uneven-looking tone and skin rejuvenation.
Targeted Pigment & Tattoo Treatment — May be suitable for selected pigment or tattoo concerns after individual assessment. Suspicious or changing skin lesions require medical evaluation before cosmetic laser treatment.
Pico Laser vs CO₂ Fractional Laser
Pico Laser uses extremely short pulses with a predominantly photoacoustic effect, primarily for selected pigmentation and tattoo concerns, with fractional options for texture refinement.
CO₂ Fractional Laser uses ablative thermal energy absorbed by skin water to create microscopic resurfacing zones. It generally involves more downtime.
Neither is automatically better. Suitability depends on skin type, concern, pigmentation risk and recovery needs.
What Happens During Treatment?
1. Consultation — Assessment of skin concerns, medical history, pigmentation risk and treatment suitability.
2. Preparation — Cleansing and appropriate laser safety measures, including eye protection.
3. Laser Treatment — An individually selected treatment technique and settings.
4. Finishing Care — Appropriate skincare, aftercare instructions and recovery guidance.
Selected Glowvia Pico Laser facial sessions include LED Repair Light Therapy and a repair mask, where appropriate.
Recovery & Aftercare
Temporary redness, warmth, sensitivity and swelling can occur. More intensive treatments may cause darkening, crusting or blistering.
Follow individual aftercare instructions. Protect the skin from sunlight, avoid picking or scratching, and delay exfoliating acids, retinoids and additional procedures until advised.
Possible complications include post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation, infection and scarring.
A Special Note About Melasma
Melasma is a complex, often recurrent pigmentation condition. Laser treatment can worsen melasma or cause post-inflammatory pigmentation in some individuals.
Pico Laser is not automatically suitable for melasma. Careful assessment and ongoing sun protection are essential.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
The number of sessions varies depending on pigment type, depth, treatment approach and individual response. Tattoos and persistent pigmentation may require multiple treatments.
Complete removal of pigmentation or tattoo ink cannot be guaranteed.
