New Doublo HIFU Skin Tightening & Facial Contouring

Focused Ultrasound · Radiofrequency Technology · Personalised Skin Firming

At Glowvia Beauty Lab, we combine advanced aesthetic technology with personalised skin care to help clients explore non-surgical options for age-related changes in skin firmness and facial definition.

New Doublo, developed by Korean aesthetic technology manufacturer HIRONIC, uses focused ultrasound technology in aesthetic skin-firming treatments. Our approach focuses on understanding each client's skin condition, facial anatomy and individual goals before recommending a suitable treatment plan.

Alongside HIFU, radiofrequency (RF) is another established energy-based approach used in aesthetic skin treatments. These technologies generate heat through different mechanisms and may have complementary roles when a suitable device, treatment protocol and practitioner expertise allow their use.

What Is New Doublo HIFU?

HIFU stands for High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound. It is an energy-based technology designed to concentrate ultrasound energy at selected depths beneath the skin surface.

At the focused points, ultrasound energy produces controlled thermal effects. The resulting tissue response may involve collagen remodelling, which can contribute to gradual improvements in the appearance of skin firmness.

The appropriate treatment depth, energy settings and anatomical areas depend on the specific device, treatment components and individual assessment.

How Does HIFU Work?

1. Focused Energy Delivery
Ultrasound energy is concentrated at selected tissue depths without requiring surgical incisions.

2. Controlled Thermal Response
Localised heating at the focal points initiates a tissue response. Appropriate treatment settings and anatomical knowledge are essential for safety.

3. Collagen Remodelling
Over subsequent weeks and months, collagen remodelling may contribute to changes in skin firmness and facial contour appearance.

What Is Radiofrequency (RF) Skin Tightening?

Radiofrequency, commonly known as RF, uses electrical energy to generate controlled heating within targeted tissues.

In aesthetic treatments, appropriate RF heating may promote tissue responses associated with collagen remodelling and improvements in the appearance of skin firmness.

Unlike focused ultrasound, which concentrates energy at selected focal depths, RF heating generally follows a different energy distribution pattern depending on the device, electrodes and treatment technique.

RF treatment is not suitable for everyone. Device characteristics, implanted electronic devices, medical history and individual skin or tissue conditions are important considerations.

HIFU & RF: Understanding the Difference

Both HIFU and RF are energy-based technologies studied and used in aesthetic skin-firming care, but they work in different ways.

HIFU – Focused Ultrasound Energy
Concentrates energy at selected tissue depths to produce localised thermal effects. It is commonly considered for selected concerns involving facial skin laxity and contour appearance.

RF – Controlled Radiofrequency Heating
Uses radiofrequency energy to heat targeted tissues. Depending on the system, RF may be used for selected skin-firming and texture-related concerns.

Potential Complementary Application
Certain aesthetic systems and professional treatment plans use focused ultrasound and RF together or in separate treatment stages. The aim is to address different tissue responses through complementary energy-delivery methods.

Combining these technologies does not automatically improve outcomes for every individual. Suitability, device capabilities and safety must be assessed before any combination is considered.

Skin Concerns & Treatment Areas

Depending on the technology used and individual suitability, aesthetic skin-firming treatments may be considered for selected concerns.

Facial Skin Laxity
Mild to moderate age-related changes in skin firmness.

Jawline & Lower Face
Concerns relating to reduced definition of the lower facial contour.

Neck Firmness
Selected concerns associated with the appearance of skin laxity in the neck area.

Skin Texture & Early Ageing Changes
Certain treatments may be considered for visible skin texture or firmness concerns, depending on their intended use and individual suitability.

Treatment areas are determined by the actual device configuration, available handpieces, manufacturer instructions and practitioner training.

Who May Be Suitable?

HIFU skin-firming treatment is generally considered for adults seeking a non-surgical approach to mild or moderate facial skin laxity.

Suitability depends on facial anatomy, tissue thickness, existing medical conditions, previous treatments and expectations. Individuals with significant skin laxity may require a different approach.

Your Treatment Experience

Step 1 – Personalised Consultation
We discuss your skin concerns, relevant medical history, treatment goals and previous aesthetic procedures.

Step 2 – Treatment Planning
Suitable areas and settings are considered according to the device instructions and individual assessment.

Step 3 – Energy-Based Treatment
During HIFU treatment, the practitioner applies ultrasound coupling gel and uses the appropriate handpiece to deliver focused energy to selected areas. Warmth, tingling or discomfort may occur.

Where a suitable RF treatment is separately available and clinically appropriate, its procedure and precautions should be explained as part of an individual treatment plan.

Step 4 – Aftercare & Follow-Up
Your practitioner provides aftercare guidance based on the treatment delivered and your individual skin response.

When Can Results Be Expected?

Changes following HIFU are usually gradual. Where improvement occurs, it may become noticeable over several weeks or months as the treated tissues respond.

RF-related results also vary according to the treatment system, settings and individual response. Neither technology guarantees a particular degree of lifting, tightening or improvement.

Energy-based treatments cannot reproduce the effects of a surgical facelift.

Recovery & Aftercare

Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, tingling or sensitivity may occur after treatment. The type and duration of these effects depend on the technology used and individual response.

Follow the aftercare instructions provided by your practitioner. Gentle skincare and appropriate sun protection may be recommended while the treated area recovers.

Seek prompt medical assessment if you experience severe pain, burns, significant swelling, persistent numbness, weakness or other unexpected symptoms.

Risks & Important Considerations

HIFU and RF are non-surgical energy-based technologies, but neither is risk-free.

HIFU-related adverse effects may include temporary pain, swelling, bruising or altered sensation. Less common complications may include burns, prolonged nerve symptoms and unwanted facial fat or soft-tissue changes.

RF treatments may also cause discomfort, redness, swelling and, in some circumstances, burns or unwanted tissue injury. Specific risks depend on the RF technology and how it is delivered.

Medical history, implanted devices, pregnancy-related precautions, active skin conditions and previous aesthetic procedures must be considered before treatment.

Why Choose Glowvia Beauty Lab?

At Glowvia Beauty Lab, we believe that effective aesthetic care begins with understanding the individual rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all treatment approach.

Our philosophy combines personalised assessment, realistic expectations and a thoughtful approach to skin-firming technologies, with particular attention to client comfort and treatment suitability.
