LED Light Therapy – Skin Recovery, Acne Care & Rejuvenation

Targeted Light Technology · Gentle Skin Care · Personalised Wellness

At Glowvia Beauty Lab, LED Light Therapy offers a non-invasive, light-based approach that may be incorporated into personalised facial and skin-care treatments.

Different light colours represent different wavelengths or combinations of wavelengths. Depending on the equipment and treatment protocol, selected LED settings may be considered for acne-prone skin, skin comfort, recovery support and certain visible signs of ageing.

LED therapy does not involve needles or surgical incisions. Individual suitability and results depend on skin condition, wavelength, energy output and treatment duration.

What Is LED Light Therapy?

LED stands for Light Emitting Diode. Professional LED devices use light-emitting components to deliver selected wavelengths towards the skin.

Certain forms of LED treatment, particularly red and infrared wavelengths, are studied in a field known as photobiomodulation. Researchers investigate how appropriate light exposure may influence cellular signalling and tissue responses.

LED Light Therapy differs from IPL and laser treatments. It does not rely on the same concentrated or high-intensity pulsed energy used in many other aesthetic procedures.

How Does LED Light Therapy Work?

When light reaches the skin, certain molecules can absorb selected wavelengths. This interaction may influence cellular signalling and other biological processes.

Treatment responses depend on wavelength, energy dose, exposure duration, frequency and individual skin characteristics.

More light is not necessarily better. Appropriate settings and adherence to the equipment instructions are important for safe treatment.

Understanding Different LED Light Colours

Professional LED systems may offer several light settings. Each colour or mode should be understood according to the actual wavelength and equipment specifications rather than colour alone.

Red Light – Skin Rejuvenation & Recovery Support

Red-light therapy has been investigated for its potential effects on cellular responses associated with skin repair, inflammation and collagen remodelling.

Certain protocols may support gradual improvements in selected aspects of skin appearance, including fine lines and overall skin texture. Outcomes vary, and the strength of evidence depends on the application.

Blue Light – Acne-Prone Skin

Selected blue-light wavelengths interact with light-sensitive compounds associated with Cutibacterium acnes, a bacterium involved in inflammatory acne.

Blue LED treatment may be considered as an adjunct for certain mild inflammatory acne concerns. It is not a replacement for appropriate medical care, and it may not be suitable for all acne types.

Yellow Light – Skin Comfort & Appearance

Yellow or amber LED settings are offered by some aesthetic treatment systems and are sometimes incorporated into skin-comfort or appearance-focused programmes.

Research into these applications is still developing. The availability of a yellow-light setting does not, by itself, demonstrate a proven treatment effect for redness, pigmentation or sensitive skin.

Green Light – Selected Skin Appearance Applications

Green LED wavelengths are being explored for selected skin applications, including aspects of pigmentation and appearance.

Evidence remains limited for many advertised benefits. Green light should not be considered an established treatment for all pigmentation concerns.

Purple Light – Combined Light Mode

Purple LED modes are available on some professional devices. Depending on the system, a purple appearance may be produced by a combination of red and blue LEDs or by another defined light configuration.

Potential skin-care applications depend on the actual wavelengths delivered. Purple light does not automatically provide all the benefits associated with separate red- and blue-light protocols.

Infrared Light – Skin Wellness & Recovery Support

Infrared light is used in selected light-based wellness and skin-care applications. Its interaction with the skin depends on wavelength, energy output and the treatment protocol.

Infrared is a broad category that includes different wavelength ranges. Without the equipment's exact technical specifications, a setting labelled Infrared Light should not automatically be described as near-infrared or far-infrared.

Some infrared applications are studied for tissue responses and recovery-related support, but these findings cannot be assumed to apply equally to every infrared device.

Skin Concerns We May Consider

Acne-Prone Skin
Selected light settings may be considered alongside appropriate management of mild inflammatory acne.

Skin Recovery Support
Some light-based protocols have been studied as part of recovery-focused skin-care approaches.

Fine Lines & Early Ageing Concerns
Certain red-light protocols may contribute to gradual changes in selected aspects of skin appearance.

Skin Comfort & Visible Redness
Suitability depends on the cause of redness and the available treatment protocol. Persistent or unexplained redness should receive appropriate assessment.

LED Light Therapy & Professional Facial Treatments

LED Light Therapy may sometimes be incorporated into a personalised facial programme as a standalone procedure or as an additional treatment step.

Following more intensive treatments, such as skin needling, laser, IPL or chemical exfoliation, LED suitability must be assessed according to the skin's condition, the procedure performed and the relevant recovery protocol.

LED therapy should not be viewed as a guaranteed way to prevent side effects or accelerate healing following every treatment.

What to Expect During Your Treatment

Step 1 – Personalised Consultation
We discuss your skin concerns, health history, medications, skincare routine and treatment goals.

Step 2 – Skin Preparation
The treatment area is prepared according to the equipment instructions. Appropriate protective eyewear is provided where required.

Step 3 – LED Light Exposure
A selected light setting is applied using an exposure duration appropriate to the equipment and individual treatment plan.

Step 4 – Aftercare & Review
We provide suitable skincare advice and discuss whether further treatment or assessment may be helpful.

Results & Treatment Planning

Changes in skin appearance, where achieved, are generally gradual. Some protocols use repeated sessions over time.

Results vary according to wavelength, energy dose, frequency, skin condition and individual response. No specific outcome can be guaranteed.

Safety & Important Considerations

Although LED Light Therapy is non-invasive, it is not suitable for everyone.

Certain medications, skincare ingredients, photosensitive conditions and eye conditions may increase the need for precautions or medical advice before light exposure.

Protective eyewear should be used as required by the equipment instructions. Looking directly into powerful LED sources may create eye-safety risks.

Temporary effects may include mild warmth, dryness, irritation, headache or discomfort. Persistent or unexpected symptoms should be assessed appropriately.

LED Light Therapy at Glowvia Beauty Lab

At Glowvia Beauty Lab, we take a considered approach to professional skincare, focusing on individual needs, appropriate treatment selection and realistic expectations.

LED Light Therapy may be incorporated into a broader facial-care plan when suitable. Available settings and treatment options depend on the actual equipment and individual assessment.
